CASE Construction Equipment, a brand ofCNH, introduces Project Shilpi, as a part of their CSRinitiative to equip youth with limited means with essentialskills in servicing and maintenance of backhoe loaders. Theproject has been strategically developed to address this gap by building acertified talent pool trained in backhoe loader repair and maintenance.
Project Shilpi is designed for unemployed youthfrom economically weaker sections, particularly ITI (Industrial TrainingInstitute) and diploma holders aged 18 and above, who are unable to pursuelong-duration training due to financial or logistical constraints. Focusedon youth from across the country, the initiative aims to create a steadypipeline of trained technicians. The project not onlystrengthens the industry’s service ecosystem but also contributes to theGovernment’s Skill India Mission and supports the United Nations SustainableDevelopment Goals—specifically SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG10 (Reduced Inequalities).

Speaking about the launch, Ms. Kavita Sah,India CSR Head, CNH, said, “At CASE, we believe in enablingcommunities through skills that transform lives. Project Shilpi addresses acritical gap in the construction equipment industry by preparing youthwith job-ready skills in backhoe loader servicing. Through this initiative, weaim to strengthen India’s technical workforce while empowering individuals toachieve socio-economic independence.”

The project follows a three-month blendedtraining model, beginning with a focused boot camp, followed by 26 hours ofonline theoretical learning and 520 hours of practical, hands-on training.Regular industry interface ensures participants gain real-worldexposure, while outreach efforts through rural campaigns and communityengagement help mobilize candidates from relevant backgrounds.
Upon completion, participants receive a third-partyexternal assessment certification and gain essential skills inoperating, maintaining, and servicing backhoe loaders. Furthermore,trainees are expected to gain a strong understanding of safety,environmental compliance, and customer communication.
