India’slargest iron ore miner, NMDC reported 4.62 million tonnes of production and3.98 million tonnes of sales for February 2025. This production output hasachieved an 18 per cent growth over February 2024 and emerged as the highestever February month production in company history.
NMDC’scumulative volumes up to February 2025 stood at 40.49 million tonnes inproduction and 40.20 million tonnes in sales. The cumulative production figurehas also unlocked the company’s best ever volume produced in 11 months, sinceinception.
Speakingon the company’s formidable performance, Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (AdditionalCharge) said, “The 18 per cent boost in production output represents a strongoperational momentum. Consistent growth of this kind is an outcome of anefficient mining ecosystem driven by an innovative and ingenious spirit.”
“Theupcoming financial year is lined up with determined expansion and newopportunities. We are confident that our efforts will continue to propelself-reliance in India,” he added. NMDC has committed to build a 100 milliontonnes iron ore mining capacity by 2030, and has announced a massive capitalexpenditure plan to this end.
