Schwing Stetter India and IIT Madras collaborate to deliver sustainable construction solutions
SCHWING Stetter India(SSI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the IndianInstitute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras) to drive sustainable advancementsin construction industry. As part of this collaboration, SSI becomes a PlatinumMember in Technologies for Low Carbon Lean Concrete (TLC2) program and joinsthe Advisory Board of the Centre of Excellence of IIT Madras.
Through joint researchinitiatives, the partnership will work towards developing energy efficient andenvironmentally friendly construction techniques enhancing innovation inconstruction industry by integrating academic research with industry expertise.The collaboration between SCHWING and IIT Madras is set to aid SCHWING Stetterengineers on various skill development trainings through IIT faculties and alsoperform various collaborative projects. SSI and IIT Madras jointly conducted astudy earlier with Chennai Metro on reuse of construction and demolition wasteaggregates in concrete production and published a report.
