Metso delivers Peracidox™ scrubbers to India for SO2 emissions reduction
Metso willdeliver four Peracidox™ scrubbers to Hindustan Zinc to minimize sulphur dioxideemissions at their plants. The scrubbers will be installed at the sulfuric acidplants at the company’s zinc smelters in Chanderiya and Debari in India.
Metso’sPeracidox™ scrubbers that are to be delivered to Hindustan Zinc have beencustomized for the Indian market to comply with the stringent localenvironmental regulations and to meet the needs of the Indian customers.
Metso’sPeracidox™ scrubber efficiently reduces the residual SO2 of tail gases,minimizing emissions. The solution, an oxidative removal process, features highremoval efficiency and ease of control with minimized mechanical equipment. Itcan be installed as part of a new plant or in existing ones. The Peracidox™scrubber can be used, for example, to reduce SO2 emissions downstream inexisting sulfuric acid plants.
