The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the construction of NH-927 from Barabanki to Bahraich (101.515 km) with four lane controlled access to NH-927 in Uttar Pradesh under Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) at a cost of INR 6,969.04-crore. The proposed upgradation of the Barabanki-Bahraich section of NH-927 in UP will address the problems of critical road design defects, sharp curves and congestion in urban inhabited areas in Barabanki and Bahraich districts.
Designed as a 'controlled access' four-lane highway
with continuous service roads, the project will circumvent major habitations. The
project will provide seamless connectivity to key economic, social, and
transport hubs across the state.
Additionally, the upgraded corridor will strengthen
the work of 'multi-modal integration' by connecting three economic centres, two
social centres, and 12 transport hubs. It will provide more effective
multi-modal connectivity to Rupaidiha Land Port and various airports.
After completion, a very important 'Cross Border
Trade and Transport Corridor' between India and Nepal will be strategically established
through the Nepalgunj border. It will significantly improve access to Rupaidiha
Land Port.
