TheHeavy Engineering arm of Larsen & Toubro dispatched six of the world’slargest Coke Drums weighing 658 tonnes each for a refinery project in Mexicoordered by PTI Infraestructura de Desarrollo (PTI-ID), a subsidiary of theMexico’s state-owned oil company PEMEX (Petróleos Mexicanos). These Coke Drumsform a part of a Delayed Coking Unit in the PEMEX Dos Bocas Refinery Project,which will convert the residue from the combined distillation plant intohigher-value products.

Theywere successfully manufactured during Covid-19 pandemic at L&T’sstate-of-the-art ‘Heavy Engineering Complex’ located at Hazira near Surat.

Commentingon the occasion, Dr. Leonardo Cornejo, Project Director, PTI Infraestructura DeDesarrollo S.A de C.V. (PTI-ID) said, “These Coke Drums are critical equipmentfor the refinery project of national importance to Mexico and we are glad toassociate with L&T for manufacturing of the world’s largest Coke Drums.”
