- Sterlite Powerdoubles power transmission capacity in Lucknow to ensure uninterrupted powersupply, in record time.
- Sterlite Power’ssolution boosts capacity of transmission lines and relieves network congestion.
- Project executedin record time.
- 102 CKM of upratingfive transmission lines in just 78 Shutdown days in Lucknow.
Sterlite Power has achieved yetanother significant milestone with the successful uprate and commissioning offive, 132 kv lines in the heart of Lucknow. The project was completed in recordtime, doubling the transmission capacity of these five existing lines withoutany major change to existing infrastructure. These lines, which normally carrya 80-85 MW load, will now be able to carry a load of over 160 MW after theuprate.
All urban transmission lines runningthrough Lucknow were feeding substations of important areas. These lines wereover 40 years old and passed through densely populated settlements. Withgrowing population and development, ground clearances were not enough to matchtransmission requirements. With exponential growth in demand for power, transmission congestion challenges also manifested in excess load, leading tofrequent power outages.
These lines supply power to areaslike, Martinpurwa, Gomti Nagar, TRT, Sarojini Nagar and Sonie, which houseGovernment offices, the Governor’s Residence , Chief Minister’s residence,Secretariat Nirman Bhavan, Indra Bhavan, Raj Bhavan, Vidhan Sabha Mar, RajajiPuram, Alambaug, RDSO, Bangla Bazar, Ambedkar University, Mohanlalganj andHospital SG-PGI, etc.
With this Uprate, the transmissionnetwork capacity in these areas has been doubled and will impact the lives ofnearly 20 lakh people residing in these areas.
