3 concrete for the 300m high Supernova Spira project, being constructed by Arabian Construction Company at Supertech Supernova site in Noida.
Being built for their high profile clientele who desire a luxurious lifestyle, Spira is an iconic tower located at Supertech Supernova site in Noida Sector 94. It is being constructed by Arabian Construction Company (ACC) and is India’s tallest mixed-use development consisting of 80 floors, standing 300 metres tall.
The building comprises all modern facilities, such as a clubhouse, jogging track, swimming pool and much more. Supertech Supernova is offering the mixed use development and residential, service apartments, hotels, shopping malls, office spaces and recreational centres. ACC has completed the vertical pumping of 200 metres of the iconic tower, Spira, by using the SCHWING SP3000 pump.
Supernova is the biggest mixed-use development in the whole of North India, spread across 5.0 million sq.ft area. It has first-of-its-kind water front development on the banks of the river Yamuna. This entire project costs $30-bn whereas, Spira alone costs $8-bn.
SCHWING Stetter pumps at its best
SCHWING portable concrete pumps are successfully deployed worldwide, whenever vast quantities of concrete have to be pumped over exceptionally long horizontal and vertical distances. SCHWING pump SP3000 has pumped 357,000m
3 of concrete. Concrete grade used are M50, M70 and M80, which were pumped at the height of 200 meters.
SP 3000 pump is equipped with variable flow hydraulic pumps that eliminate the risks of overloading the motor. The variable hydraulic flow optimizes the distribution of the oil volume and pressure of concrete pump and automatically adapts to different pumping requirements or pumping difficulties.
The twin hydraulic circuit and soft switching system combined with the open command block ‘hi–flow’, means low heating of hydraulic oil with almost no loss of power, and conservation of hydraulic components.

Grade concrete of M80 was pumped at the height of 200 meters, which was quite a challenging task for the team with pumping cylinder with the diameter of 180mm and stroke length 1,600mm. This is a record breaking pumping in high rise construction with M80 concrete grade. The concrete used for the project was primarily M80 (80mpa) grade, whereas M50 grade concrete was the requirement for raft foundation of the Spira tower.
Pipe line layout
The concrete pump was placed in the ground level and the pipeline was anchored inside the tower with 75 numbers of pipes with the height of 200m. The concrete from batching plant (M 1.25 T) was transported using four numbers of transit mixers (AM6SHN) and then fed into the concrete pump (SP 3000) for pumping. For the efficient work progress, the clean system components was kept organized near the concrete pump.
